Rules of Survival (Entangled Embrace)

If you want to survive, you have to follow the rules…
Mikayla Morgan is wanted for her mother's murder. She's been on the run for almost a year now, avoiding not only the police but the real killer. Tired of running and desperate to clear her name, she breaks one of the most sacred rules: never return to the scene of the crime.

Every bounty hunter on the Eastern Seaboard is after the Morgan girl—but Shaun Denver and his partner snagged her. She's a piece of work, and Shaun can't decide if he wants to kiss her or kill her. When things take a sharp turn south, Shaun does the only thing he can think of to keep her close—he handcuffs them together.

As the danger mounts and the killer closes in, the chemistry between them threatens to explode.

My Impressions

First off, the cover is just sexy.Seriously, I wish I knew this man. This book grips you from the get go with mystery , murder and a hot bounty hunter with all the other elements you want in a great  mystery: a good hunt, twists and turns in the plot, drama, romance, and a killer that will keep you on you toes till the end. There is some profanity and moderate sexual scenes that would make this book recommended for 17 and up in my opinion.

Overall, I found the book to be pretty realistic. You have Mikayla Morgan who lives and operates by some extreme rules and codes of conduct that her murdered mother instilled in her. Then you have Sean, the bounty hunter who has a short fuse and his own ugly, dysfunctional past to overcome. Coupled with an insane, vindictive killer, Jaffe, chasing them both down while they are handcuffed together.

I was a little worried the book would take a bad turn when Sean and Mikayla wound up cuffed together , but the author did a good job with working out problems such as  using the bathroom, taking a shower  and changing clothes all while trying to keep their privacy and remain inconspicuous to others.

The only down side to this book for me was that I thought it ended a little abruptly leaving me less than satisfied with Sean and Kayla's romance. Otherwise though I look forward to reading more by this author.
