My Impressions:
I adored this book. Lots of action, great plot with tons of drama and a romance brewing. Taryn and Grayson are fantastic. You feel the heat between them the first time they meet and you sense the attraction and bond getting deeper as the book progresses. Although it is a little odd that they would get together so quickly after Taryn's fake marriage, but still if a man does what Shep did to Taryn it would be pretty easy to get over him and move on in life without hesitating.
I was especially impressed the way Mills wrote Taryn. As the plot started to come into focus and you realize that Shep has pulled a fast one on Taryn you almost expect Taryn to come across as some dimwit that should have seen it coming. Some tall tale signs that were screaming this guys a fake and the female character to be portrayed as weak and dumb. Mills did not do this though. she set up the Taryn character from the beginning to be strong, smart, brazen and in control. So when the FBI lays out how intricate the plan that Shep had laid to deceive Taryn to get what he wanted from her you did not leave with the impression that Taryn was some ignorant woman that should have seen through all his lies. In fact she comes out as resilient, insightful, caring and tough.
I have to say though that I loved the humor between Grayson and his grand father. That quick wit that can only come from a deep love and understanding between two people. He also provided that gentle push that Grayson needed to peruse Taryn and make things right with his father.
Overall this was a great page turner of a book and I for one cannot wait to read the second addition.
