The Christmas Cat

The Christmas Cat (Nov 15th - 22nd

He felt his face flushing as Cara opened the door. Wearing a garnet-colored knit dress and with her dark hair pinned up, she looked even prettier than he remembered. Suddenly he wished he'd thought to bring a hostess gift. Like a cat.

After years abroad, Garrison Brown finds himself at the home of his beloved grandmother who has just passed away. He must sort out her belongings, including six cats who need new homes. While he hopes to dispense with the task quickly--especially since he is severely allergic to cats--his grandmother's instructions don't allow for speed. She has left some challenging requirements for the future homes of her furry friends.

Can he match the cats with the perfect new owners? And is it possible that he might meet his own match along the way?

My Impressions:

This has to be one of the most adorable and sweet books I have read in a long time. Richly filled with love, forgiveness, friendship, hopes and dreams while at the center keeping God's desires first in your life above your own. The writing style made the book flow smoothly and at perfect pace to really let the story linger in your heart while pushing the plot along.

Garrisons relationship with his grandmother is beautiful. After a terrible accident killed both his parents, Garrison was raised by his grandmother, who also had just lost her husband and only son. Grieving together they bonded and formed a love that went beyond words.  When Garrison feels his life is unraveling he gets the news that his grandmother has passed away, and he did not get the chance to say his goodbyes. His grandmothers only request of him is to find homes for all 8 of her cats, but with a list of "requirements" the new owner must meet first! This part of the book was hilarious. To see Garrison honoring his grandmothers wishes, despite how crazy they seemed, was incredibly sweet, but the list was hysterically strange.

This is were Garrison meets Cara. A beautiful woman that strikes him with her charm right away, but sadly does not fit the criteria of his grandmother to be cat owner.  We walk with Garrison as he decides what path in life to take, how to best honor his grandmother and what to do with his dreams.

Cat lovers will adore this book as will anyone that loves a sweet romance and a great Christmas story.

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from Revell.
