My Review:
My son and I adored this book. The messages in this small little book is profound. In an age that is so self centered it is nice to see a children's book that promotes doing for others, building each other up and being a good friend. Beauty is found from within and that is something every parent tries to drive home to their kids.We will all have something about ourselves we dont really like, but we should focus on all the beauty we do have on the outside yes, but more importantly on the inside. Too often girls look in the mirror and hate what they see. Comparing themselves to other girls instead of basking in their differences as beauty within itself.
I appreciated the thick pages that make this book durable and long lasting. The images were lovely and really helped capture the soul of this book. The author uses bright, bold, multi-size words that make this book easy for kids to read and visually appealing. In the back of the book you get a link that you an watch animate stories and videos from the Pumkinheads that were amazing. This book is wonderful and well worth the small price tag attached to it. I know this book is aimed at girls, but my son loved it and it opened up a great discussion for recognizing beauty in different ways, where we should be seeking beauty etc. SO glad I got the opportunity to review this one!
