My Impressions
This is the 2nd book I have read by Chuck Black, the first being Clock of Light, and I have yet to be disappointed. The tremendous things God has in store for all of us, from the least to the greatest. This book takes place at the same time as Cloak of Light and after so you really need to have read the first one already to really enjoy how intricately Black weaved these two stories together.
Black created another marvelous story about spiritual warfare that is alive between good and evil. Throughout the millennium, Validus has seen empires that have risen and fallen as angelic and demonic forces battle in a raging spiritual warfare that will determine humanity’s fate. He is a warrior and although he conquers many with impossible odds and rises to power and respect, he still feels that he is without a purpose in Heaven and unworthy of the honor bestowed upon him. So when Validus is called to a special assignment on Earth he feels he is being punished and is ashamed. Soon, God's purpose and design for him slowly emerges and shocks even Validus as he is to guard one man only-Drew Carter- that holds the fate of the world.
This was a fantastic read full of mystery, suspense, love and mind blowing action that kept you wanting to stay up to the wee hours of the morning to finish the book. It's simply brilliant. The plot is enticing, drawing you from the first paragraph till the bitter end.I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in this series.
