Month: July
Special Days: You are finally letting me read to you again. So I am loving it. Every night you pick out 2 books right before bed and we sit and cuddle together while I read to you. I have started giving you words for you to learn to recognize so you can read along with me as well. Right now they are "you", "Mamma", "I" and "it"....You get them right about 40% of the time, but you are doing wonderful.
2. Big Time Rush/Cody Simpson Concert-This was your very first concert and it was great. You went with Delaney, Sara and Me and you had a blast. You sang along to all the songs, you yelled, clapped, and danced. It was a thrill to watch you get so excited over seeing a band you like live. We even had to endure some rain, and the concert was outdoors.
3. 4th of July- Obvious I know, but I love the 4th and this year you got to light all your own fireworks. Your favorite was the ladybug you picked out. You did Roman Candles, Rockets, Sparklers, Firecrackers, and so much more. Plus, you got to ride on the hood of my car around the pond several times with your brother. Something you had never been able to do before. It was a fabulous day!

Favorite Stories: Since your brother moved back in this summer, you are having a hard time dealing with the extra time taken away from you. You have started locking the door when you want your "mommy cuddle time" and yell at anyone that tries to come in and interrupt it, no matter who it is. You still call me every morning when you wake up with "Mommy, I need you!" i don't think I will ever get tired of that.

Greatest Quotes: "Mommy why are they doing that?" This was a question to posed when we were at the zoo and we saw to mandrill's. The boys was grabbing at the girl trying to turn her around and she was fighting back. I had to explain that they were trying to make babies. It was quickly followed by a "yuk" when the male got ahold of the female.
What has impressed me most about you this month: You are getting better every day with your manners. You are also learning to control that temper of yours. You door slamming and screaming are diminishing little by little, but you are still working on it. You also have started expanding your prayer communication with God. No longer do you just stick to the poetry prayer you learned when you were baby, but you have started to really communicate with God during the day and at night! This is the greatest thing I want for you. For you to really build an open and honest relationship with your Savior.
Where I hope to see you grow: This sounds like a broke record, but really it is the thing we are working on the most with you and that is your temper and controlling your emotions. You are gradually getting better, but you still have a difficult time expressing yourself when you are frustrated or feel rejected. You are learning to open up and talk more before you loose control, which is a step in the right direction, but you still slam doors, scream, back talk and sass off to everyone. We have all banned together to help you gently correct this before it becomes too much of a habit for you and even more difficult to break.
My Absolute 3 Favorite Thing We Did Together This Month:
1. Survival Skills Class- we went to Bass Pro Shop and we did survival training. You learned to shoot a bow and arrow, a Beebe gun and also how to cast a line to fish. This, of course you already knew. You also got to go on a scavenger hunt and learn about tracking skills of different types of wild life you might encounter in the woods.
