Dont Miss the Boat: Facts to Keep Your Faith Afloat

There are many thorough books about the Flood, which can often be technically difficult to read. Here at last is a book which is comprehensive in scope, but easy-to-read. The book opens with chapters which explain the account of the Flood in Genesis 6 through 9. There follows then some chapters on history - the history of the ancient world and how Western society came to reject the truth of the Genesis Flood. The book also includes scientific articles, and some short stories, which help explain the world before the Flood.

My Review:

Don't Miss the Boat: Facts to Keep Your Faith Afloat by Paul Taylor is my most recent read. In this book Taylor looks at the Biblical account of Noah's flood and shares facts that show how the Biblical account of the flood can be literal and accurate and still match the scientific information that we have. This was an amazing book to read. The author did a wonderful job of "dumbing down" the events of the flood so any lay person can really understand what happened, why and how it affects us still today.

I really enjoyed the simply way this book was organized and divided  and the natural flow it had to it. My kids and I really liked the short stories in the back of the book told from the different perspectives of those who lived just before the flood occured and how corrupt and evil the world truly had become. The author does a wonderful job of laying out the facts of the flood and using earth science and providing scriptural and scientific evidence to back it up.

My only real complaint about this book, and its not even really a complaint, but the book does get a little bland at times and starts to sound more like a textbook which makes it a little harder to read. You definitely cannot read this all at one time, you have to take it in in doses and really let it resonate with you before moving on.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone that really wants to dig into the events of the Flood and not just get a glossed over view of this remarkable event in history. This book would also make a great study for a youth group class as well for teaching Creation Science.
