What I Love Most About Delaney-October

Favorite Quote: "Yolo" I am not even sure what this means but you say it all the time

What has impressed me most about you this month: You have been stepping up in helping out with the younger girls in your American Heritage Girls troop. The younger girls really like you and seek your attention so I am proud that you have taken it upon yourself to help out and be a leader. Also, I can see a real effort made on your part to get along with your youngest brother and spend the time with him one on one that he wants so desperately from you. Come on this is a little boy who every morning crawls into your bed to hug on you before you wake up and push him away.

Love, Your Dad
Almighty God

Where I hope to see you grow:
You are pulling away from your faith fast. To the point you said it was not a big deal if you married a guy who did not believe in Christ. I am really worried about you and the more I bring it up, the more you pull away. I want to chalk it up to teenage angst and rebellion, but I dont think I can. You have been showing more and more distaste with all things Biblical since you have gotten more gay, bisexual and lesbian friends. Their opinion and position mean more to you than Gods and that terrifies me for you. I hope and pray in the months and years to come that you do not take my view on the gospel or your friends view, but that you develop your own based on research and seeking after truth. You are against bible studies as a family and get snotty when you are forced to do them. You dont want to go to church except to see friends and you are pulling away from youth group as well. I wish I could take your free will away and make you believe and except Christ and the full gospel message, but I cannot. I know you love Christ and want to honor him, but you dont see why its important to accept all the bible as biblical truth and authority in your life and how you are suppose to live. All I can think of is a verse in  I Corinthians 15:33  that says basically "Be not deceived: evil companions corrupt good morals." Basically your friends are corrupting the good morals I have tirelessly tried to instill in you and I am worried sick about it.

Favorite thing we are doing this month:

1. Fright Fest- This was our first year attending Fright Fest and it was awesome! You got to bring your friend Mason with you and although you did not get scared, you did scare me and your little brother. The place was pretty neat all decked out in scare theme and monsters on rides with you. You even got up and did karaoke and sang Maroon 5's Misery. You went through haunted maze and even went on the Flume, their water ride. This is the first year we even bought season passes so we can go again and again.

2. Bon Jovi Concert-I surprised you with this one. Normally I do not let you go see secular bands, but Bon Jovi has been around for years and 99% of his music is fine and I have no issues with it. We had a great time and your Uncle Shane even came along. You jammed out made fun of the "old people" dancing in the aisles and rocking out. You got to hear some of your favorite songs by him and we even took some video of the concert for your to remember, although my phone does crappy video.

3. Movie Night- This month we sadly only managed to squeeze in one movie to watch together and that was My Babysitter is a Vampire. It was a cute show, but i really enjoyed just watching something with you that you picked out and having some time alone to sit down, cuddle and munch on food. Those are always my best moments with you.
