This year instead of our family making a New Years
Resolution’s we have decided to pick a scripture verse to guide each of us
through the year as we trudge through life. We are each selecting a verse that
we fill speaks directly to our hearts that will not only guide us in our daily
walk, but also give each of us hope, purpose and motivation to help us when life is going good
and when difficulties arise.
Every year we have set
a New Year’s Resolution and every year it never lasts. They are always the same
things: eat better, exercise, spend less time on electronics, have a better
relationship, etc. You get the point. There is nothing wrong with these
things, but they are all very self focused and not God focused. So this year as
a family we decided to do things different and skip the resolution and turn to
God for guidance throughout the year.
I pray these posts will inspire and
encourage you to select a scripture verse to guide you through the year as
well.
My Verse of the Year for 2014: "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." Ephesians 6:12
