Costly Love:
There is no doubt that February is often associated with
love because of Valentine’s Day.
Here are some numbers on Valentine’s Day in 2013:
$151 million
cards exchanged
$224 million
roses grown
$1.6 billion
spent on candy
$1.9 billion
spent on flowers
Does love cost us something only at Valentine’s Day? People
are willing to spend major dollars for the ones they love over one day in
February. As people who have been “bought” “purchased” and “redeemed” we are
recipients of God’s costly love to us through Jesus Christ. Let us show love to
others on a daily basis as a reflection of what we have received because of
God’s grace!
“We love because He first loved us.”
- 1 John 4:19
