What I Love About Drake Feb 2014

Favorite Quote: "You dont know me always" You get this cause I have the habit of saying "I know you little boy" when you are about to do something that is either crazy or going to get you into trouble.

What has impressed me most about you this month: Your AWANA leader told me how impressed they have been with you during game time. They have noticed a trend with you that every time a kid gets hurt during the games you stop and go help them. Something that no one else does consistently, especially during dodge ball time. One day when playing dodgeball, Timothy kept getting hurt and could not get a ball and started to cry. You went up to him and put your arm around him and told him it was ok that he could have your ball and then you showed him how to throw the ball. This may not seem like a big thing, but his parents told me that he talked about you helping him all week. That Timothy was so proud of himself for being able to have a ball and throw it at kids all because you took the time to stop and help a friend instead of just looking out for your fun.

Where I hope to see you grow: Temper, temper, temper. Although you have gotten better you have a long way to go. You stopped screaming and kicking and throwing things for the most part, but you still get very upset very quickly when your feelings are hurt. I am proud of the progress you have made, but we are working on making more still in this area.
Favorite thing we did this month:
1.Soccer- You decided to take a break from baseball and give your hand or foot at soccer this season instead. You are placed on the Dragons and your coach is Juan. You have been learning to run  drills, kick the ball, stop it, bring it back, and other basic ball control drills. You have had your chance to play goalie, forward, and center during practices. Its only been a couple of weeks, but you seem to enjoy yourself and your teammates. Hopefully this will be a better fit for you and your energy!

2. Stables: You went with your sister and me to the stables to set up our training and fell in love with the horses. You ran with them, fed them, brushed them and really just had a lot of fun being you. Your little friend Katrina was there with her dad and you to just had a blast.

3.  Book time: You are getting so good at reading.Every night we do a daily bible study together and I adore listening to you read and ask questions about what you are learning. This has really helped develop your prayer time as well. You are learning to think about other people and situations and apply it when you are thanking God for your blessings.
