personal interactions because of COVID-19 social distancing procedures, but
virtual and in-person opportunities still exist to help out. Here are four

The nonprofit faith-based organization for at-risk youths
needs in-person and virtual mentors for after-school and summer programs. To

Harvest
Project Food Rescue
The volunteer-run Harvest Project Food Rescue fights food
insecurity and food waste by redirecting surplus produce destined for the
landfill to communities in need. Volunteers are regularly needed at various

the Love of the Lake

Join For the Love of the Lake from 8 a.m. to noon on May 8
for the nonprofit group’s monthly Shoreline Spruce Up event. Sign in and pick
up supplies via the office’s drive-through process. Masks and social distancing
from those outside your household are required. Volunteers collect litter
throughout White Rock Lake Park, White Rock Creek and along the shoreline on
the second Saturday of the month — rain or shine.

Meals on Wheels: VNA Texas is looking to ramp up meal
delivery to homebound seniors and disabled adults from three to five days a
week and needs your help. In-person volunteers deliver food and conduct
wellness checks. An online application, background check details, online
