Loudmouth Review

About the Book:

From one of radio's loudest, orneriest, most beloved, and highest-rated sports radio personalities, a bold and hilarious memoir of sports, manhood, and what it is to be a fan.   In 1991, a young Craig Carton drove all of his belongings in a crappy 1980 Buick to Buffalo, New York, to interview for a job at WGR radio. Hired for $12,000 a year, he rented a room in a retirement home where he agreed to help care for his elderly neighbors in exchange for rent of $99 per month. That auspicious start marked the beginning of what is fast becoming a legendary radio career. Often compared to Howard Stern, Carton has hosted a series of highly rated shows, and in 2007 he joined WFAN, where he and Boomer Esiason host an eponymous show every morning for four hours out of a studio in New York City.

In this debut book, Carton invites the reader to join him as he recounts tales from his suburban youth, defends his long-held love affair with the New York Jets, reminisces about the shenanigans of some of the highest paid and most celebrated athletes playing today, and reflects on his work as one of radio's craftiest, most hilarious personalities ever to get behind the microphone.

My Review

This was a hysterical book.It is funny, engaing, entertaining and had good illustrations. I laughed so hard I cried. Loved all the funny stories and puns, they really cracked me up. So much of this book had me shaking my head going "yep, thats a guy for ya." I was blown away at the complete bluntness that Craig has when he writes. He hold nothing back and does not for a second make you guess what he thinks-he tell you straight away. I don't know why I doubted the book would be any differnt than his radio personality, but for some strange reason I did. I think my favorite quote in the whole book was when Craig said "Proving people wrong is a side job for me." I love that statemts and deeply feel that if we want to be honest with ourselves its a side job for most of us. We live to be right-to be proven worthy. It's sad really when you think about it. The only person's opinion that should matter is the Lords, yet we strive for everyone to see us the way we see us or want to be seen.
Warning: This is not a book for kids at all. The language is severe and the discripitions and stories are adult in nature and are not for a younger audiance at all. I would recommend this book for mature adults only.

About the Author:
Craig Carton is the co-host of the Boomer and Carton radio show on Sports Radio 660 WFAN and the host of "MMA Uncensored Live" on Spike. He has hosted shows at WGR Radio in Buffalo, WWWE in Cleveland, 610-WIP in Philadelphia, KKFN and KBPI in Denver, New Jersey 101.5 in New Jersey, and WNEW in New York City.

Chronicles of Dinosauria review

The Chronicles of Dinosauria is written by Dave Woetzel, illustrated by Richard Dobbs and published by New Leaf Publishing.

About the Book:
  • Hardcover: 88 pages
  • Publisher: Master Books; Reprint edition (April 3, 2013)
  • Language: English
  • ISBN-10: 0890517045
  • Retail Price: $16.99
Every legend is said to include some grain of truth, and for years co-author Dave Woetzel has sought to separate fact from fiction as he explores mysteries related to dinosaurs, mankind’s history, and the biblical time-line. Teaming with artist and designer Richard Dobbs, the two have created a visual archive of expeditions and intriguing clues to explore, all of which highlight the connection to the authority and reliability of Scripture.

Provocative artifacts from around the world are examined in an exquisite, full-color book that hints at man’s familiarity with living dinosaurs. Studies point to more than simple answers beneath the waves of Loch Ness, and other sites around the world, many investigated personally by the author. Here is the study of cryptozoology and the discoveries that seem to defy all evolutionary time-lines, vividly illustrated and filled with rare photos.

View the exciting book trailer:

My Thoughts:

I adored this scrapbook/magazine combo layout book. It was chalk full of fabulous, bright and colorfully vivid illustrations, photos and art work that really helped bring the book the book to life. The author touched on 5 main key points to back up biblical evidence of dinosaur and man co-existing and dating to the era of pre-flood and post flood, such as fossil evidence, historical evidence, artistic evidence, Cryptozoology evidence and Biblical evidence. Dave uses each of these topics to dive into and give us a deeper understanding  of how all things point back to a wonderful and powerful creator, while keeping in mind scientific evidence that non-creationist believe in and use to support their way of thinking.

My kids (ages 6, 13 and 18) favorite parts of the books ranged  from the Fossil Science Experiment, the Dragon Trivia, Dino Drawing Experiment to the Bible Puzzle,  Dino Dave's Challenge and the pictures. Personally, I enjoyed the research opportunities the book provided, the ability to use it to teach geography, vocabulary and bible all at one time while strengthening our families ability to give an account for the things we believe and why. Location evidence was amazing. We are taking a trip to MN next month and cannot wait to stop by Wyoming to view the Devil's Tower and Bone Cabin Quarry and hit New Mexico on our way back to visit Ship Rock. To be able to see first hand the profusion of skeletons in the dinosaur graveyards from the Flood will be amazing.

Paper Mache' Dinosaur Egg
As a fun way to wrap up your unit, make a paper mache' dinosaur egg together.
Glue or Flour (depending on what kind of glue you are going to make)
Newspaper Strips (about 1-1 1/2 inches wide, 8-12 inches long-- length isn't a big
Balloons (large round work best for this)
Plastic dinosaur (optional)

1. Blow up a balloon until it is nice and big with an almost oval shape. For a
special egg, throw a plastic dinosaur figure in the balloon before you blow it up.
2. Mix up your glue
Option 1 - 3/4 white glue to 1/4 water
Option 2- Mix 1 cup of flour into 1 cup of water until the mixture is thin and
runny. Stir into 4 cups of boiling water. Simmer for about 3 minutes, then cool.
3. Dip each strip of paper in the glue. Get the excess off by running it through
your fingers. If you don't get the extra off, you will probably end up with a gloppy
mess. Wrap each strip around the balloon. When the entire balloon has a layer
of strips, let it dry a bit. (We used fans). Once it is dry, you can add another
layer. I recommend three layers just to make sure you will have a sturdy egg.
4. Once the egg is completely dry, you can pop the balloon from inside the egg.
5. Let your student decorate the egg with paint, makers, or whatever else you
may want to try.
6. If you have a plastic dino inside, let your student "hatch" his egg.

Spreading the Love of Christ at Comic Con

Our Group

Are you a Christian? If so, what are YOU doing to reach the lost? YOU DO understand that the Lord Jesus Christ has given us a Great Commission to obey, right? Are YOU obeying Christ's command to reach the lost? Jesus said that YOU show YOUR love for Him by obeying Him (John 14:15). Do YOU REALLY believe in an eternal place of torment called Hell? Do YOU really believe that YOUR non-Christian family members, YOUR non-Christian friends, YOUR non-Christian co-workers and the non-Christian complete strangers that you walk by will go there? If so, what are YOU doing about it? If YOU love them, YOU WILL do/say something! One of the easiest ways to get started obeying the Great Commission is by handing out Gospel Tracts. You might be fearful at first, but you can do it. Anyone can give out Gospel Tracts! ANYONE

Drake sharing Christ with his favorite Power Rangers
My kids and I have just recently gotten into street evangelism. I believe its an important part of our faith and we are commanded to spread the love and message of Christ to the ends of the earth. (Mark 16: 15, Matthew 24:14) I have made a point to start with process with my kids early on in life so it will be second nature to them and they will not have the fear and hesitation that I have hopefully later on in life.
For those who do not know Comic Con gets well over 200,000 plus visitors in the 3 days it runs. People literally line up around the block to get a glimpse at some of their favorite comic book hero's, artist and creators. There are movie starts, directors, illustrators, publishers and of course comics coming out from every place. People pay some serious money to get photos taken (up to $400 a pic) and autographs (up to $800) with the people they idolize. They dress up as people they look up to and don;t mind spending hours stuck in the heat waiting to get indoors and buy merchandise they have been saving and searching for.

This is not a trash on Comic Con. I have nothing against the festival per say. I use to read comics growing up and my kids read some of the comics. I watch the Marvel cartoons with my kids an recognized about 3/4 of the characters that were dressed up while we were there. it is not the festival that worries me. it is the idolizing that concerns me. It is the lack of morals and ethics that take place, it is simply the loss if our Savious' presence. So when I found out a group from church was going I was stoked to get in on it.

There are many different types of outreach that you can do, in the past we did servant evangelism  a simple, straightforward approach to sharing God’s love in simple, practical ways. It’s a way to reach our neighbors, neighborhoods and cities by serving others with no strings attached. Such as baking a cake for the sick, mowing someones lawn with no strings attached, etc. It’s the offer of an act of kindness to people. As a disciple of Jesus Christ every believer should be involved in some type of outreach to the lost. We show our love of our Savior, by our obedience to His commandments. By taking part in outreaches with joy and a willingness to serve the Lord we have the delight of not only doing what the Lord commanded us, but we have the blessing of ministering directly to God, Himself. In the book of Matthew the Lord tells us that when we reach out to our world we are touching Him. What a glorious reason to participate in outreaches with joy.
“For I was hungry and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ “Then they themselves also will answer, saying ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ (Matthew 25: 42-45)

Ths month we did what is called street evangalism. distribution, with an emphasis of basically handing out as many phamplets with the message on it as possible. So we set out on a course of handing out pamphlets spreading the message of Christ. We prayed for those who let us. Talked to those about salvation and the condition of our hearts. We took photos, engaged the crowds and made ourselves approachable.  Of course we got mocked by some, laughed at, and made fun of, but we also got accepted, rejoiced with and engaged by others. I don;t know if anyone came to Christ that day, but I do know we planted the seed of Christ within them and that is what we are called to do. The rest is up to God and sending His Holy Spirit into their hearts. We plant He sows and I am incredibly thankful for that.

I want my children to be obedient to Gods word. To realize that someone else's salvation does not fall to them, but to god, we merely plant the seeds that hopefully will grow a faith that will glorify Christ, but ultimately it is a heart relationship between them and God and all we can do is obey God to spread His word and be ready to give an account for our faith. My heart was overjoyed watching my 6 year old little man pray with people and tell them about the love of Christ and how desperately we all need Him.

Acts 17:11 Idolatry

Acts 17:11 Idolatry

When Anything or Anybody Gets What God Alone Deserves

Ex 20:3-4 (NIV) "You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below."
  • God destroys idols; He is the great iconoclast. Even good things can become idols, and while reveling and boasting seem good at the time, it is a grave disservice to idolize anything or anybody. The result is God's wrath, on you and the idol. God will not be eclipsed.
  • 2 Ki 18:3-4 (Amp) Hezekiah did right in the sight of the Lord... He broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made, for until then the Israelites had burned incense to it; but he called it Nehushtan [a brazen trifle].
  •   James 4:5 (Jer) Surely you don't think the Scripture is wrong when it says: the spirit which He sent to live in us wants us for himself alone?

The Lust For Idols--A Matter of The Heart

James 4:3-4 (Phi) You don't get what you want because you don't ask God for it. And when you do ask he doesn't give it to you, for you ask in quite the wrong spirit--you only want to satisfy your own desires. You are like unfaithful wives, never realizing that to be the world's lover means becoming the enemy of God! Anyone who chooses to be the world's friend is thereby making himself God's enemy.
  •   Col 3:5-6 (Jer) That is why you must kill everything in you that belongs only to earthly life: fornication, impurity, guilty passion, evil desires and especially greed, which is the same thing as worshipping a false god. All this sort of behavior makes God angry. (Eph 5:5)
  •   Eze 6:8-9 (NIV) "...How I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts, which have turned away from me, and by their eyes, which have lusted after their idols. They will loathe themselves for the evil they have done and for all their detestable practices."
  •   Deut 29:18 (NIV) Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the Lord our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison. (See also through verse 29.)

But Everyone Else Is Doing It...

2 Ki 17:15 (NIV) They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their fathers and the warnings he had given them. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the Lord had ordered them, "Do not do as they do," and they did the things the Lord had forbidden them to do. 2 Ki 17:40-41 (NIV) They would not listen, however, but persisted in their former practices. Even while these people were worshipping the Lord, they were serving their idols. To this day their children and grandchildren continue to do as their fathers did. 1 Cor 10:7 (NIV) Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: "The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in pagan revelry."

    Public Image--Making Idols Of Men

1 Sam 15:23 (NIV) For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry.
  •   Acts 8:9 (NIV) Now for some time a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and amazed all the people of Samaria. He boasted that he was someone great...
  • A.W. Tozer: "Christ calls men to carry a cross; we call them to have fun in His name. He calls them to forsake the world; we assure them that if they but accept Jesus the world is their oyster. He calls them to suffer; we call them to enjoy all the bourgeois comforts modern civilization affords. He calls them to self-abnegation and death; we call them to spread out like green bay trees or perchance even to become stars in a pitiful fifth-rate religious zodiac."
  • Eze 8:12 (NIV) He said to me, "Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol?"
  •   2 Pet 2:18 (NIV) For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error.
  •   1 Cor 12:1-2 (NIV) ...I do not wish you to be ignorant... somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to dumb idols.
  •   Isa 41:29 (NIV) "See, they are all false! Their deeds amount to nothing; their images are but wind and confusion."
  •   Jer 2:5 (NIV) This is what the Lord says: "What fault did your fathers find in me, that they strayed so far from me? They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves."
  •   Ps 97:7 (NIV) All who worship images are put to shame, those who boast in idols... 1 Sam 12:21 (NIV) Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless.
  •   Isa 57:12-13 (NIV) "I will expose your righteousness and your works, and they will not benefit you. When you cry out for help, let your collection [of idols] save you! The wind will carry all of them off, a mere breath will blow them away. But the man who makes me his refuge will inherit the land and possess my holy mountain."
  •   Isa 42:8 (NIV) "I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols."

Do We Take Idolatry As Seriously As God?

Eze 6:4-6 (NIV) "... I will slay your people in front of your idols. I will lay the dead bodies of the Israelites in front of their idols, and I will scatter your bones around your altars... your idols smashed and ruined, your incense altars broken down, and what you have made wiped out."
  •   1 Cor 6:9-10 (NIV) Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy... (Rom 1:23-25)
  •   Eph 5:5 (NIV) For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

    Spiritual Adultery

Isa 57:5-8 (NIV) "You burn with lust among the oaks and under every spreading tree... The idols... are your portion; they, they are your lot... You have made your bed on a high and lofty hill... Behind your doors and your doorposts you have put your pagan symbols. Forsaking me, you uncovered your bed, you climbed into it and opened it wide..."
  •   Eze 23:7,29-30 (NIV) She gave herself as a prostitute... and defiled herself with all the idols of everyone she lusted after... They will deal with you in hatred and take away everything you have worked for. They will leave you naked and bare, and the shame of your prostitution will be exposed. Your lewdness and promiscuity have brought this upon you, because you lusted after the nations and defiled yourself with their idols.
  •   Isa 57:10-11 (NIV) "You were wearied by all your ways, but you would not say, 'It is hopeless.' You found renewal of your strength, and so you did not faint. Whom have you so dreaded and feared that you have been false to me, and have neither remembered me nor pondered this in your hearts? Is it not because I have long been silent that you do not fear me?"

Ezekiel is Grabbed By The Hair and Shown "Inside" The Temple Of God

Eze 8:5-6 (NIV) ..."Son of man, look toward the north." So I looked, and in the entrance north of the gate of the altar I saw this idol of jealousy. And he said to me, "Son of man, do you see what they are doing--the utterly detestable things the house of Israel is doing here, things that will drive me far from my sanctuary? But you will see things that are even more detestable."
  •   Eze 8:5:7-10 (NIV) Then he brought me to the entrance to the court. I looked, and I saw a hole in the wall. He said to me, "Son of man, now dig into the wall." So I dug into the wall and saw a doorway there. And he said to me, "Go in and see the wicked and detestable things they are doing here." So I went in and looked, and I saw portrayed all over the walls all kinds of crawling things and detestable animals and all the idols of the house of Israel.
  •   Eze 8:12,15 (NIV) He said to me, "Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol? They say, 'The Lord does not see us...'" He said to me, "Do you see this, son of man? You will see things that are even more detestable than this."
  •   Eze 8:16-18 (NIV) He then brought me into the inner court of the house of the Lord, and there at the entrance to the temple, between the portico and the altar, were about twenty-five men. With their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east, they were bowing down to the sun in the east. He said to me, "Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial matter for the house of Judah to do the detestable things they are doing here?... Look at them putting the branch to their nose! [witchcraft] Therefore I will deal with them in anger; I will not look on them with pity or spare them. Although they shout in my ears, I will not listen to them."
  •   Eze 9:1-2 (NIV) Then I heard him call out in a loud voice, "Bring the guards of the city here, each with a weapon in his hand." And I saw six men coming from the direction of the upper gate, which faces north, each with a deadly weapon in his hand. With them was a man clothed in linen who had a writing kit at his side. They came in and stood beside the bronze altar.
  •   Eze 9:3-4 (NIV) Now the glory of the God of Israel went up from above the cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the threshold of the temple. Then the Lord called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing kit at his side and said to him, "Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it."

Would You Qualify For This "Mark" In God's "Temple" Today?

Eze 9:5-7 (NIV) As I listened, he said to the others, "Follow him through the city and kill, without showing pity or compassion. Slaughter old men, young men and maidens, women and children, but do not touch anyone who has the mark. Begin at my sanctuary." So they began with the elders who were in front of the temple. Then he said to them, "Defile the temple and fill the courts with the slain. Go!" So they went out and began killing throughout the city.
  •   Eze 9:8-11 (NIV) While they were killing and I was left alone, I fell facedown, crying out, "Ah, Sovereign Lord! Are you going to destroy the entire remnant... in this outpouring of your wrath...?" He answered me, "The sin of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great... So I will not look on them with pity or spare them, but I will bring down on their own heads what they have done." Then the man in linen with the writing kit at his side brought back word, saying, "I have done as you commanded."
  •   2 Cor 6:16 (NIV) What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."
  •   James 4:5 (NIV) ...the spirit he caused to live in us envies intensely...

Repent Or Perish--A Greater Judgement Is Coming

  • A.W. Tozer: "Grace will save a man... but it will not save him and his idol." Jonah 2:8 (NIV) "Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs."
  •   Eze 14:3-6 (NIV) "Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces. Should I let them inquire of me at all? Therefore speak to them and tell them, 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: When any Israelite sets up idols in his heart and puts a wicked stumbling block before his face and then goes to a prophet, I the Lord will answer him myself in keeping with his great idolatry. I will do this to recapture the hearts of the people of Israel, who have all deserted me for their idols... Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!'" (Joshua 24:14-27, Deut 30:11-19)
  •   1 Pet 4:3 (NIV) For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do--living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry.
  •   James 4:7-10 (Phi) Be humble then before God... You are sinners: get your hands clean again. Your loyalty is divided: get your hearts made true once more. You should be deeply sorry, you should be grieved, you should even be in tears. Your laughter will have to become mourning, your high spirits will have to become dejection. You must humble yourself in the sight of the Lord before he will lift you up.
  •   Eze 36:25 (NIV) "I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols."
  • Eze 37:23 (NIV) "They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God."

  • End of High School Jitters?

So you are finally at the end of your school journey and ready to let your son or daughter conquer the world. So why do you have this nagging feeling and all you can think of is did I do enough? Did I cover all the material? Did I make an impact? Are they ready to move forward?  My eldest will soon graduate and we will send him off to college and turn him loose into the secular world on his own for the first time and I myself have these same fears and doubts. As a mom we worry about our kids and if we did enough for them. Did our time matter and did we use it well to glorify God.  Well lets take a look and see shall we?

    Ready to Do:
Do they have good study skills?
Do they know how to research information?
    Can they write an essay?
    Do they communicate clearly?
Can they balance a checkbook or know how to use an online program?
    Can they cook a meal?
Do they know how to clean and organize a household?
Do they know how to care for young children?
    Are they teachable?

    Ready to Face:
Do they have a Biblical worldview?
Are they strong in their faith?
    Can they articulate their convictions?
Have they read the Bible through?
Are they influenced by peer pressure?
Do they know how to handle stressful situations?
    Are they fervent in prayer?
Are they serving the Lord with the gifts and abilities He's given them?

    Most Important:
    Do they love God?
    Do they love others?

If you can answers most of these in the affirmative you did you fabulous job, don't worry. you will be there for them when they stumble and lets face it they will stumble-we all do. So hold your head high and congratulate your child as they take the next step in their journey knowing you fully support them and have faith in them to tackle anything that is to come there way.

What I Love Most About my Drizzle-May

Favorite Quote: " Cause your the man, dad!" This was in response to a conversation we were holding that went something like this. Me: So you think its the intake manifold gasket that needs to be changed?" Dad: " Maybe, I am not sure that's going to solve the problem. Could be about 4 different things really. Do you still want me to  try and fix it, you may be wasting your money if I am wrong." Me: " I guess so if you think you can figure it out. Do you think you can?" Drake: Yes, cause your the man dad!"

What has impressed me most about you this month: You are my little cuddle monster and you must have your mommy alone time or you fall apart. Lately though you have been getting very good at letting others interrupt your mommy time without having a full scale melt down that lasts all day long. You think I am exaggerating, but so sadly I am not. You are good if the second i get home you get 30, uninterrupted minutes alone with me just cuddling, playing a tickle game or hide and seek, but let it get interrupted even for 1 second and you freak out. We have had many talks about this and so this month I have been very proud of you that even when your sister, brother or someone else knocks on my door to ask me a question or tell me something, you freak a little, but you have managed to stay pretty well in control 90% of the time.
Favorite Photo: You in your Superhero cape holding your comics
Scripture Verse: Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through him who strengthens me. "
James 1:19-22 "19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."
Where I hope to see you grow: MY simply request this month for your growth is in personal hygiene. You have started to slack with brushing your teeth, wanting to shower/bath and picking up after yourself. You do great to help me clean the living room or wash dishes, but when it comes to your person and your personal responsibilities you are lacking lately. We will work on it.
Favorite thing we are doing this month:

    1. Free National Comic Book Day: Is there anything better than free comics? I dare say not. You love doing this with me every year. We go and pick out comics, make super hero capes, decorate our own superhero logo to put on the around the store, take pics with other superheros and just have a fun time. This year you even ran into some of your friends from church: Zeke and Jojo Coffee. Your cape this year was red and blue and is hanging up in your room for when the world needs saving by Super Drake.
    2. Building Sweetheart Frames for Mothers Day: I can I resist building a picture frame with my little man for Mother's Day? I simply cannot. You made me a cute little heart shaped frame that the heart tears open in half to reveal a picture of us together, The frame is red and blue and painted by you. (Did you notice my mad rhyming skills? Just Checking) Its very adorable and sits on my shelf in the living room.
    3. Awana Party: We have finally reached the end of our AWANA year and we had a great party to end on a good note. We got to try and dunk people, throw pies at them and eat snow cones. You did not make it very far in your book tis year, but you also had alot peronally going on. I know next year you are going to do great!!

See the Light: The Crossmaker Review and Giveaway

When celebrating Easter at our house we try to focus on the real meaning of the holiday, Christ and all He has done for us. Granted we still dye and hunt eggs and have alot of fun in that area, but our focus is in Christ’s death and resurrection during this time of year. I feel this DVD perfect for the season to help you remember the true meaning of Eater.

My  daughter has always adored art and I try to fill our homeschool days with lots of crafts and creativity to fuel this desire. She loves attending art festivals and watching painters on TV, but she has always wanted to take real art classes and learn the "how-to's" of creating her own masterpiece. Sadly, the classes have always been way too expensive for this single parent to afford, until now that is. This program is affordable and well worth the money it does cost.

The combination of story-telling and interactive art makes this DVD appropriate for all age groups and the art lessons incorporate some awesome special effects using a black lights that any kid, and some adults, would be tickled pink to create.

My Thoughts: I really enjoyed the way that the DVD combined a story that my younger children could listen to and enjoy while my older ones worked on creating their own masterpieces.I loved that my kids were recreating a piece of Gods word and the storytelling drew you in.

Thoughts of my 13 year old: My daughter loved the water colors and the instructions on creating the art work by using chalk pastels, fluorescent chalk pastels, colored pencils,  and crayons.

Thoughts of my 6 year old: Drake adored the story and watched it over and again these last few weeks. He like the crayons and chalk pastels the best.He attempted to do the art lesson itself, but had difficulty.

Thoughts of my 18 year old: I would say that the movie part of the DVD is suited for elementary  kids and maybe first year middle school, and the art lessons will work for just about anybody with basic art skills. I enjoyed recreating the 3 crosses.
